According to a research, there are many advantages of having a good memory, namely, better marks in examinations, higher self confidence, reduced anxiety and frustration, improved social interaction (really?) and improved sleep quality. But here I'll talk about the woes of remembering things. I know that you're thinking that having a good memory is a valuable skill. Yes, certainly, but it makes my life a little difficult.
I cannot re-read a book or re-watch a movie/series as I remember every scene distinctly.
I have to lie when I say that I forgot a chore that I was supposed to do but didn't want to do.
I remember all the embarrassing moments of my life painstakingly.
When someone narrates a story for the fourth time, I have to hold my tongue so that I don't correct them when they add another detail to their "story" for convenience.
I remember disgusting things in excruciating detail.
I recollect many facts and can't keep my mouth shut from spewing those randomly, earning a 'know it all' look from others.
I cannot even forget the things that I want to forget - bad experiences, people, places, hell, I cannot even forget a bad odour.
Having a good memory is not bad but its definitely not pleasant for me. Please let me know in comments if you can relate to any of these!😉

Very well written!
It’s true. Even we’re losing good opportunities just because of bad past memories 🥲
Unique !
